Derrick Todd Lee was a convicted serial killer who operated in Louisiana, United States from 1998 to 2003. He was responsible for the murders of at least six women and may have been involved in a number of other unsolved cases. A sketch of Lee was widely circulated by law enforcement during the time that he was on the loose. The sketch depicted a black man in his 30s or 40s with short hair, a mustache, and a distinctive patch of facial hair below his lower lip. The sketch was based on descriptions provided by witnesses who had seen Lee near the locations where some of his victims were found. In 2003, Lee was finally caught and convicted of the murders. He was sentenced to death and died in prison in 2016.
